Anne L. Fox lived in Berlin, Germany until her departure at age 12 with the Kindertransport to England in December 1938. Her brother got a student visa for England in the summer. After war broke out, communication with their parents had to resume through friends’ and family letters. Their parents were deported in 1943 and died in concentration camps. Anne’s brother had collected the letters, which she received in 1984. Several years later, Anne had the courage to read them.
