"Teachers like the Holocaust, not so much for the subject matter, but because it reaches students like no other topic. It is the high point of the semester; the thing kids remember most."
"It helps kids realize that not every defeat is a final defeat; you don't have to be a winner from the get-go and that we can face the depths of inhuman morality to teach the lessons of human morality."
Dr. Michael Berenbaum, Professor of Jewish Studies American Jewish University, Los Angeles; Former Director, Reaearch Institute, United Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Our specialty is in the area of Holocaust and education and that is where we work to strategically develop markets, partnerships and opportunities for books and authors to move into areas beyond a website or an occasional bookstore. We are interested in the success of the book beyond its sales record -- to us the story really does matter, as does who we can get to read it.
As a New Jersey-based publisher, we are fortunate that Holocaust, genocide and tolerance education is mandated by the State of New Jersey to be taught in schools. We believe that education offers the longest "shelf life" for a title, especially when titles are creatively packaged and promoted into the classroom.
